I wanted to do a drawing of Obama for a hot minute, and thankfully today was Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so the site i worked at was very slow. I got to draw and watch movies with a bunch of elementary school kids and draw=] So I drew this from the picture of him on the New York Post. This was done entirely with a brush, I 2 mistakes around the jaw and the neckline that I whited out, but outside of that, everything else was pretty fresh=] I am extremely proud of this, which is why I have the image at such high resolution. I think I will be drawing more with a brush=]
Now truth be told, when Obama was announced, I was in shock..... I am only 30 so my experience with racism in America isn't as grand as those who are still alive that lived through the Civil Rights Movement, but I still have some vivid memories. Now those of us who always wanted to be something, but never thought it possible to ever be a President of the USA, have proof that anything is possible=] P.s. download to see the brush strokes=] such coolness, I swear i love this=] oh and I will be doing a proper one that will take more than 10 minutes. |

would finally get into office and undo this mess here in Malaysia.
I can really feel a big change is gonna come in the world now. It's as if all the old giving way to the new. Our last elections in March 2008 was really a shocker. No one thought the opposition would have won 5 states here. Now the chase is on now. At this point I seriously have no mood for muckraking politricks that's common in our local democratic process. The concern now is whether our boys in the opposition could really deliver.
For us cats in Malaysia it really slow. I guess it pretty much
a case of fine tuning along the way. Still, the dreams all of us have is beyond imagining. Just really hope it will be really worth it and not in vain.
