Artist's Comments

Turtles are prominent in Taino art. They are a part of our culture and history, so I felt that since Coqui's are a part of our present, there should be new art that combines our past and our present.....

Thanks to :iconhroswith: for this picture [link] that I used as a reference. The Coqui was referenced through google....

What skill you have! It's funny I just finished watching TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). What an excellent piece.

Is the way you handle the contrast of it. It brings a natural touch to the piece.
Also I'm from PR :D so I get the symbols there!
:iconthelearningcurv:
WEPA! Good stuff, where in PR you from? I got family in San Sebastian, Rio Piedras, and Guynabo=] Glad to hear that someone from the island feels it!=]

This one was very nicelly achieved. I really like your clarooscuro and your use of brushes. My only comment would be on the composition, I feel it needs more surrounding space, specially at the upper area at the right. Other than that it's a great work!
:iconthelearningcurv:
i think you may be right.... I had originally had more space above the turtle's head and somehow flatted it and didn't use my history brush so i couldn't go back to the file before the flattening:( I tend to be a little absent minded from time to time:(
